NOTI chairs and the European Capital of Culture
June 2015 saw the opening of Wrocław’s Barbara Bar, a showcase of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016. Barbara Bar is located in the Świdnicki Passage. The bar used to be a low-priced heating place and somewhat of a cult location for Wrocław’s residents. Now revamped, it accommodates a café and a special space dedicated to exhibitions, debates, workshops, meetings with artists and offices. The first exhibition held in the venue is the project called SIT DOWN THE POLISH WAY aimed at gathering the best examples of Polish design under one roof. All the exhibits were authored by Polish designers and put into production by Polish manufacturers in the period from 1941 until 2014. We are extremely pleased that prime examples of Polish design on show also include Su and Comma chairs by Renata Kalarus, Mishell and Trefle chairs by Piotr Kuchciński, Teddy Bear armchair by Mikołaj Wierszyłłowski, and Termo by Tomek Rygalik.
