After the Red Dot Award 2016 ceremony
1800 guests attended on July 4 the Red Dot Award 2016 ceremony in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen. Among them were many companies and designers from Poland, including NOTI and Tomek Rygalik. His TULLI armchair was awarded in the category of Product Design - Living Room and Bedrooms/Seatings. The winning TULLI is presented at the exhibition Design on Stage and on-line.
Granted in Essen, Germany, the Red Dot Awards are called the Oscars of design. The name and brand of the award were developed in the 1990s by Red Dot CEO, Professor Dr. Peter Zec. Since then the sought-after “Red Dot” is the revered international seal of outstanding design quality.
This year's awards are the result of evaluation by an expert committee, which included 41 independent experts from around the world: freelancers, professors and journalists associated with the design. They have taken into account the following features of the products: innovation, quality, functionality and ecological approach to the manufacturing process. In 2016 participants from 57 countries submitted 5 200 projects to the competition in the category of Product Design.
This is the third Red Dot award for NOTI (2014 - CLAPP collection designed by Piotr KuchciĆski, 2009 – COMMA chair designed by Renata Kalarus),
